FAQs

What is Integrative counselling?

Integrative counselling is a flexible, holistic approach that draws on different therapeutic methods to meet your unique needs. Rather than working within a single framework, I combine person-centred counselling, trauma-informed care, mindfulness, and somatic (body-based) practices.

This allows us to work with thoughts, emotions, and the body — recognising that healing often happens on multiple levels. Sessions can adapt over time depending on what you’re experiencing, whether that’s stress, anxiety, grief, identity questions, trauma, relationship difficulties, unhelpful patterns, or periods of transition.

The approach is gentle, responsive, and focused on supporting the whole person — not just a specific problem.

Do you offer counselling in English in Brussels?

Yes. I offer English-speaking counselling in Brussels, both in person and online. I work with expats, international professionals, students, and anyone who feels more comfortable expressing themselves in English.

I also speak French and can offer sessions in French if you prefer, though English is my mother tongue. Many clients find working in their first language supports deeper expression and emotional clarity. Find out more about why I believe mother tongue is important here.

Can I book sessions online?

Yes. I offer online counselling and experiential sessions via Zoom, allowing you to connect from anywhere. Online sessions are particularly helpful for expats, people with busy schedules, or those living in different time zones.

What is Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP)?

Integral Somatic Psychology (ISP) is a trauma-informed, body-based approach that supports nervous system regulation and helps release stress held in the body. It complements traditional talk therapy by gently including physical awareness and sensation.

I will not touch you during sessions. At times, you may be invited to rest your own hands on areas such as your chest, neck, head, or joints, always with choice and consent. The work is slow, respectful, and guided by what feels safe for you.

Do you work only with expats?

No. While many of my clients are expats or international residents, I also work with long-term residents, students, and anyone seeking counselling in English. What matters most is that you feel comfortable and supported in the space. You can find more about my expat counselling here.
